Avatars of Jan and Georga introducing the Podcast Inside Interior Design

Inside Interior Design - The Podcast

Hello, design lovers!

We’re so excited to share our brand-new podcast, Inside Interior Design – Design Secrets Over Coffee.

It’s a relaxed, no-jargon conversation between me (Jan) — a designer obsessed with palettes, flow and detail — and Georga, who works with me at Hue & Space but isn’t a designer (and isn’t afraid to ask the questions everyone else is thinking).

Each episode, we pull back the curtain on the real-world design process — from colour palettes and lighting to furniture placement and joinery — sharing the practical “how-tos” and the occasional “what-not-to-dos.” Think of it as your friendly chat with a designer over coffee — honest, fun, and full of insider tips you can actually use in your own home.

If listening on a mobile device you may have to download the audio file first.

Inside Interior Design – Design Secrets Over Coffee.

These aren’t styling problems. They’re design problems.

It turns out that a lot of the design ideas on Pinterest don’t work in real life. Really (?) They discuss the four pillars of interior design (function, flow, feeling, and finish) and what is included in a professional design concept. What’s the risk of trying to decorate your home out of a functional issue, and how does the more you buy things without proper planning, the more cluttered your house can feel?

Ep 1 - Colour Confidence - Inside Interior Design The Podcast

Inside Interior Design – Design Secrets Over Coffee

In our very first episode, we dive into the topic that overwhelms nearly everyone: colour. We explore why colour confidence isn’t about being “brave” — it’s about being educated. You’ll learn how undertones really work, why white isn’t always the safe choice, what makes dark colours magic in small rooms, and how to build a palette that flows from space to space. We break down the myths, answer real listener questions, and give you practical steps to choose colours with clarity, not fear.
